Dr. J. Alyse Tibbs is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. Her specialties include contact lens fittings, ranging from spherical to multi-focal, and much more using the latest contact lens technologies, pre- and post-operative LASIK, cataract surgery management and ocular diseases like glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration. Dr. Tibbs has spent the majority of her life in the East Texas area. She attended Center ISD before moving to Carthage and graduating High School Class of 2006 with 15 college credit hours. Dr. Tibbs earned an Associate of Science degree from Panola College in 2009. She was a member of the American Medical Student Association at Stephen F. Austin University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2011. She later attended the University of Houston College of Optometry earning her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2018. She also performs surgery at DeSoto Regional Eye Institute in Logansport, Louisiana. Procedures include laser for secondary cataracts, glaucoma, ocular plastics, and therapeutic Botox. Dr. Tibbs and Michael, her husband, have been married since 2016. She has two daughters. Avery, who enjoys playing the piano, church activities, and volleyball. And Elizabeth, who is under a year old.

Dr. Carmen Mackey, a therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist, is committed to expanding her skills and knowledge to better assist her patients. She currently specializes in contact lens fitting, trauma, pre- and post-operactive LASIK and cataract surgery management and ocular diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration. Dr. Mackey also has a special interest in dry eye and ocular allergy management. Dr Mackey enjoys working with children of all ages to help them see the world in a whole new way. Dr. Mackey was born and raised in the East Texas area. She received her Bachelors degree in Chemistry at Southern Methodist University in 2003. She continued her education at the University of Houston, College of Optometry where she earned her Doctorate of Optometry in 2008. During her studies, she completed three internships and trained under highly skilled ocular surgeons, ophthalmologists and optometrists. Dr. Mackey was one of a limited number of students to receive a Clinical Letter of Excellence recognizing her success in Family Practice. She is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society and is an adjunct associate professor at the University of Houston College of Optometry. Dr. Carmen Mackey and her husband Ryan have been married since 2004 and currently have three children Falon, Ivy, and Bailey. They strive to live a Christian lifestyle, and know that it’s all for Him. Dr. Mackey is proud to be back in her hometown providing top quality eye care to all in need.

When it comes to something as important and precious as vision, experience makes all the difference in the world. Dr. Dixon Golden has been serving the East Texas area for over 40 years. He is trained in the latest ocular diagnostic and treatment techniques. He is a Therapeutic Optometrist and an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. In addition to providing eye care services at Nacogdoches Texas State Optical, he has lectured extensively to professional organizations. He is an adjunct associate professor at the University of Houston College of Optometry. Dr. Golden has been married to his wife, Melody, for over 30 years and they have 3 children and 2 grandson. Dr. Golden is also a deacon for the First Baptist Church of Center.
